We just finished a 3 day Hackathon ToT Training at the University of Nairobi where we took faculty heads and students through immersive training and a simulated hackathon. Over the three days, participants learned the principles of innovation and used them to develop solutions in 10 teams that had students and faculty working together. They developed solutions to problems such as mental health, universal healthcare and ecological conservation. This culminated in a pitch session in front of a seasoned panel where the top 4 s were recognized. The participants shall spearhead hackathons which will be executed in all faculties in the University in preparation for the Nairobi Innovation Week. We are looking forward to continual partnership to foster a culture of innovation within the University. With the support of over 100 innovation incubation and accelerator hubs, the hacklab received over 300 submissions from individuals committed to achieving bodily autonomy and ending FGM. Startinev's support and involvement in this event highlights the company's commitment to promoting social good and driving positive change in communities across Africa.
